Talking about Sex and Sexuality with Clients, Care Providers and the Community

  • Multicultural Service Center 4610 Southeast Belmont Street Portland, OR, 97215 United States (map)

As sexuality educator Al Vernacchio says, we in the United States live in one of the most “sexually obsessed and sexually repressed cultures” in the world. For this reason, it is critical that we all take the time to learn why it is difficult to talk about sex and sexuality and then develop tools to effectively communicate about these and other high valence topics. This interactive workshop will provide an opportunity to consider the barriers – personal, professional and systemic- to open conversations about sex and sexuality as well as providing guidance on how to engage with confidence and comfort to those we are trying to serve.
